 Lucapina sowerbii (G. B. Sowerby I, 1835), = Lucapina adspersa (Philippi, 1845)

6/13/15: It appears that the prior treatment of Lucapina adspersa (Philippi, 1845) as a synonym has gone by the wayside and the proper treatment should be Lucapina adspersa (Philippi, 1845) [= L. sowerbii auctores non (G. B. Sowerby I, 1835)].  I believe this means many past treatments confused Lucapina adspersa as the same as L. sowerbii.  However, as of 10/20/17 WoRMS accepts these as separate species.  The below presentation presents the shells accepted as Sowerby's  L. sowerbii.  See also Jaxshells.

For another description of L. sowerbii and why there was confusion with L. adspersa, see remarks under                 L. sowerbii in the Johnsonia (pg. 15).
