 Nassarius sp. Santos Brazil

8/25/14  Harry Lee:

There is a fundamental difference in the anterior shell between it and "Nassarius" coppingeri.

As you originally indicated on LTS, I believe this species is related to U. scissurata (Dall, 1889).

8/28/14  Harry Lee:

Do you think the São Paulo and

Santos specimens may belong to

a single species?

Marlo:

At this point, now that I've seen more

material from that area and noted the

large range of mature sizes, variability

in fine cords belwo suture, and

considering that the shells presented

as N. sp. Santos Brazil were dead-

collected, probably they are.
