Semele purpurascens (Gmelin, 1791), Purplish Semele

Posted: Sep 8 2015, by Susan J. Hewitt:

In the areas I have searched -- in the West Indies in the northeastern Leewards Islands, and also on Sanibel -- I have found this species to be quite rare.

Zhang calls it "common around the island" of Antigua.

I would be curious to hear from other people what their experiences are of the relative abundance of this species.
