1/29/17  Harry Lee:

As Marlo indicated, this species is found throughout FL. Furthermore, it has inhabited our state for at least 3,000,000 years to wit my collecting several nice specimens in the SMR 10 sand and shell pit in Sarasota. This operation, the destination of the July, 2013 COA Convention Field Trip, exposed the lower Pinecrest beds of the Upper Tamiami Formation. Sadly the site is now closed, and the landscape will ultimately be changed so as to make fossil hunting impractical.
